Upon your arrival to Hanoi at the Noi Bai airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. You will enjoy a welcome dinner at local restaurant.
After breakfast, you will start to explore the fascinating Old Quarter and its hundreds of specialty shops which specialize in silk clothing and custom tailors. You will also visit Hanoi’s primary cultural attractions which include the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Temple of Literature or the Vietnam Ethnology Museum.
After being picked up from your hotel in Hanoi, you will be driven to Halong City. It takes about 4 hours and your drive will be broken up with a refreshment stop en route. Once you arrive at the dock, you will be introduced to the crew and then you will jump on board to cruise through the famous, stunning islands of Ha Long Bay. We will head to Bai Tu Long Bay, and you will visit one of the large caves and get a chance to cool off with a swim. For those with lots of energy, there is an option to explore the area by sea kayak. After a day of beautiful views and magical scenery, you will finish off with a delicious dinner. Why not make it a once in a lifetime experience and board your very own private junk boat – the most romantic way to cruise in Halong.
Start the day with an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay and a view of the Bay’s landscape with a cup of tea or coffee. Cruise through Bai Tu Long and a visit to the floating fishing village of Vung Vieng, and also learn about daily life on the water. We will cruise back to the dock, arriving in Ha Long about noon for the scenic drive back to Hanoi.
This morning you will take a flight to Hue the Imperial Capital. Hue is a charming city, rich in history and culture with a variety of ancient temples. Hue is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will spend your day exploring the Citadel and relax at your leisure. Overnight at your hotel.
We drive South along the beautiful coastline and over the scenic Hai Van Pass, to the picturesque riverside community of Hoi An. On arrival in Hoi An ancient town, you will have a half day walking tour to enjoy the lovely riverside township which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is filled with narrow streets and old buildings and is also a great place for ethnic crafts. On the 14th day of the lunar calendar, following an ancient tradition, all electric lights are switched off and candlelit silk lanterns illuminate the narrow alleyways, creating a nostalgic sense of romance.
Spend the day at your leisure on the beach or choose to get some clothes made by one of the expert tailors in the town of Hoi An. If you wish to experience some Vietnamese cooking classes, we can help you arrange a fabulous half day tour exploring the local market with our expert chef who will teach you the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine.
Today you will take short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy a half day guided tour in the afternoon which includes the highlights of this bustling, cosmopolitan city. In the evening, you may wish to take a cruise down the Saigon River, complete with local entertainment and a fantastic traditional and international buffet dinner.
Your one day cruise excursion starts from Ho Chi Minh with a drive to Cai Be - Phu An where you will board about 10.00 am. The tour will start with the visit of the colourful Cai Be floating market. Following the floating market, you will visit some local home factories where they make rice paste, rice popcorn, coco candies, and dried longans. The trip continues along the Mekong canals to Dong Hoa Hiep Island, located between Vinh Long and Cai Be. During this cruise you will discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong Delta rural life. Stops on the way can be made upon request for particular visits or photos opportunities. There are many evergreen islands amidst the Mekong River which still remain unknown to many people. Lunch will await you at a local house. After a short walk along a narrow canal, the excursion will end in the mid-afternoon, and you will be transferred back to Saigon.
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, in Siem Reap, you will be greeted by our local guide and transferred to your hotel.
After breakfast, you’ll be driven to the South Gate of Angkor Thom to begin your exploration of the centerpiece of this ancient city, the Bayon. The Bayon encloses 54 towers decorated with more than 200 enigmatic, smiling stone faces. The morning tour also visits the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of Leper Kings, as well as the famous Ta Prohm Temple.
Afterwards, enjoy a relaxed lunch in Siem Reap before heading to the famous Angkor Wat, best preserved Angkor temples. Explore this huge architectural wonder at your leisure before visiting either Phnom Bakheng or Pre Rup temple to watch the sunset.
After breakfast you will be met by your guide and driven to Beng Mealea, a beautiful temple nestled in the jungle about 77 kilometres from Siem Reap. The temple’s name means lotus pond in the Khmer language and it was built by King Suryavarman II, the Khmer ruler responsible for building Cambodia’s greatest monuments. Beng Mealea is a mystical and secluded forgotten temple which is not heavily visited like the other sites of Angkor due to its remote location. The majority of the temple has now collapsed but has been appropriated with adequate wooden walkways that weave their way through the remains and the existing structures.
Next, you will take a boat trip to Kompong Khleang, one of the largest permanent communities living on Tonle Sap Lake. In the dry season you can walk through the village and you will be amazed at what looks like a forest of stilt houses rising up to ten metres in the air. In the wet season when the lake is at its fullest, take a boat along the roads that have turned into rivers, lapping up against the houses.
